John Wright Awarded the Exceptional Dedication Award
John Wright | Business Owner and Entrepreneur
John Wright, local business owner and entrepreneur, was honoured at last evening's Downtown Kingston General Meeting with the Gary Poupore - Exceptional Dedication Award. Wright’s contributions to the Kingston community have left an indelible mark on this vibrant city. Tim Pater, owner of Blackdog Hospitality and long-time family friend presented the award.
The Gary Poupore - Exceptional Dedication Award was created to honour an individual who has shown remarkable dedication and made noteworthy contributions to the downtown business community. Last night marked the inaugural presentation of the Exceptional Dedication Award, an honour that isn't intended to be given annually. Instead, it will only be presented on rare occasions to celebrate truly extraordinary individuals whose contributions and achievements stand out from the crowd.
Wright is a seasoned business professional and passionate entrepreneur who has devoted himself to the growth and development of the City of Kingston. With a career spanning several successful ventures, John has touched countless lives and, in the process, has helped elevate our city's charm and appeal, making it a preferred destination when travelling in Ontario.
From the Kingston Destination Group operators of Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises, K-Pass, Kingston Trolley Tours, Waterfront Gifts & Apparel and Wheelhouse Culinary, to the helm of K-ROCK 1057, to the welcoming ambiance of The Helm Dockside Patio, John's visionary spirit has graced this community with exceptional experiences and unforgettable memories. His dedication, energy and unwavering passion have fostered a collaborative spirit among local businesses, bolstering our downtown core and solidifying Kingston as a premier destination for visitors near and far.
Wright has previously been recognized for his outstanding achievements, earning accolades such as the Downtown Champion Award in 2009 and induction into the KEDCO MENTOR Business Hall of Fame in 2010. Last night he was honoured once again for his remarkable contributions and steadfast commitment to our city's growth and prosperity. His passion, dedication, and forward-thinking approach serve as a shining example for us all, and we are truly fortunate to have him as a driving force in downtown Kingston.
