Run for the Downtown Kingston BIA Board of Management: 2027-2030
Downtown Kingston thrives because of the dedication of its community members. The upcoming Board of Management election is your chance to step up and make a meaningful impact. If you’ve thought about taking a leadership role in shaping our vibrant downtown, now is the perfect time to act!
Why Run for the Board?
Shape the Future: As a board member, you’ll help set strategy and manage the budget, holding the organization accountable to our collective vision. It’s about creating a thriving environment for all.
Connect with Peers: Running a business can be isolating. Joining the board connects you with fellow business owners who understand your challenges and can share insights and support.
Access Key Decision-Makers: Work closely with BIA staff, municipal leaders, and planners. This access allows you to influence decisions that impact your business and community.
Think Bigger: Serving on the board gives you the chance to step back from daily operations and engage in strategic planning and innovative ideas.
Pride in Leadership: This is your opportunity to lead and inspire change in the community where your business thrives.
Your Commitment
Joining the BIA Board requires your engagement from 2027 to 2030. The board will meet monthly on the third Wednesday of each month (with the exception of no meetings in July and December), and regular attendance is key to ensuring productive discussions. Your participation is vital for making informed decisions that will influence the future of Downtown Kingston.
No Experience? No Problem!
You don’t need prior board experience — we’ll provide the training you need. Governance boards focus on guidance, not management. You’ll learn to ask the right questions and make decisions that benefit Downtown Kingston. If you have previous board experience, that’s an asset!
